The
Yarra Valley Amateur Radio Group formely the Healesville Amateur Radio Group changed from it's original name to better represent the demographics of it's members that are spread throughout the Yarra Valley. The club spent many years in the old Postal Institue room behind the Healesve telephone exchange but has now moved to the old Yarra Glen Scout Hall. This move came about because it was only a matter of time before the old building behind the telephone exchange would be slated for demolition and a planned move was undertaken to prevent a situation where the club would have nowhere to meet or keep the club's station.
The club also maintains a 2M repeater VK3RYV on 146.725 MHz to cover the Yarra Valley, the
IRLP Node
6414 using the club's callsign VK3YVG and a
Packet Radio BBS VK3API-1 on 144.775 MHz. The clube meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at the old Yarra Glen Scout Hall. Every Monday night at 2030 AEDT (2000 AEST) there is a VHF net on the club's repeater and every Thursday night an 80M net at 2030 AEDT (2000 AEST) on 3.595 MHz. For further information about YVARG the club can be contacted via it's
